Rehoboth Beach VegFestOn Sat., June 1, 2013 over 600 people joined us at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, DE to celebrate vegetarian foods during the first-ever Rehoboth Beach VegFest. Festival-goers spent the day indulging in vegan food, listening to speakers, browsing the vendor shops, and enjoying the gorgeous weather.

Even before the festival opened, dozens of eager attendees walked around to visit the over 35 exhibitor booths. Within the first half an hour of the festival opening, volunteers had distributed all 300 of our free goodie bags, filled with free products, coupons, and other items from our sponsors to excited attendees.

PCRM, which promotes plant-based eating as preventative medicine, also encourages vegan recipe exchanges and food sharing (people take turns making smoothies certain mornings.) Why implement these initiatives? PCRM Director of Nutrition Education Susan Levin says simply, “We want to practice what we preach.”
