Taco Bell Introduces New Vegan Guide to Menu
Successful campaigns by Animal Outlook have brought meatless and vegan meals to the fast-food mainstream, from Subway (the world’s largest restaurant chain), to Dunkin’, Pita Pit and more.
As consumer demand for plant-based options grows, other food industry giants are taking note and making changes.
Taco Bell recently released a hugely popular guide to ordering meatless meals from its menu. Now, the mega fast-food chain with more than 6,000 locations across the U.S. has responded to soaring demand for animal-free options by launching its new How to Eat Vegan at Taco Bell.
The page features images that show how to quickly and easily veganize your order and says: “With just a few modifications to some of your favorite menu items, you can create a delicious vegan feast in the restaurant, online at Ta.co or through the Taco Bell mobile app.”
Taco Bell clearly knows its consumers want veg-friendly meals, even telling QSR that its bean burrito is currently the #2 most popular item on the menu and touting its more than 5 million vegetarian order combos.
All orders mentioned in the new guide are certified vegan by the American Vegetarian Association, and Taco Bell even has a list of individual ingredients so you can customize your own vegan order:
From french toast sticks and hash browns (and not vegan but vegetarian veggie burger too) at Burger King to multiple sandwich selections at Subway, vegan options are increasingly being served by giants of the fast food industry.
Doesn’t it make you wonder why McDonald’s, where not even the french fries are vegetarian or vegan, isn’t adding animal-friendly food to its menu? If you think a vegan Big Mac would be a very happy meal indeed, contact McD’s and ask for vegan options.
