That’s right: COK is thrilled to announce that your requests for more vegan options are working!
Select Subway locations in Los Angeles are currently testing NEW all-vegan “Malibu Garden” and “Black Bean” sandwiches — even the marketing touts that they’re vegan! The hearty and healthy Malibu Garden patty is chock full of whole grains such as brown rice and rolled oats, plus veggies, and comes topped with a creamy vegan “fire roasted tomato sauce.” The protein-packed Black Bean patty contains brown rice, corn, bell peppers, cilantro, and garlic, and is topped with a vegan “sweet potato curry sauce.” Order both on Subway’s vegan Italian bread, and as always, you can customize your sub with additional veggie toppings!
Where can you get the new vegan subs? Right now, nine Los Angeles-area stores are testing these options, including:
- Subway: 1111 N Fairfax Ave. #108, West Hollywood, CA 90046 (323-650-2888) – Malibu Garden
- Subway: 825 N Douglas St., Los Angeles, CA 90245 (310-426-9711) – Malibu Garden
Subway: 9008 Balboa Blvd., Balboa Nordhoff Center, Northridge, CA 91325, (818-920-7780) – Malibu Garden

- Subway: 509 Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90291 (310-305-9998) – Black Bean

Subway: 18545 Roscoe Blvd, Northridge, CA 91324 (818-280-3090) – Black Bean
Subway: 16500 Sherman Way, Unit A-18 Airport Plaza, Van Nuys, CA 91406 (818-782-5595)- Black Bean
Sandwich artists at both locations have told us that even though the subs have been available for less than a week, they’ve already received rave reviews. The stores are getting calls from customers asking for more locations to offer them, and even several employees have said they’re fans!
Do you know of any additional locations offering these tasty vegan subs? Let us know!
This isn’t the first time Subway has tested vegan options. In DC, a handful of stores introduced three vegan sandwiches that were so popular, they ran out of these patties within two short weeks. Other stores are also serving up falafel while Subway restaurants throughout Canada have successfully rolled out a “Totally Vegged” all-vegan sub.
Wish Subway would serve these new all-vegan Malibu Garden and Black Bean patties in a restaurant near you? Just ask!
