Starbucks Debuts ANOTHER Vegan Option in Select Locations

It seems like every week there’s another delicious plant-based option popping up somewhere. Thanks to Compassion Over Killing’s campaign with Jane Velez-Mitchell asking Starbucks for more vegan options, the coffee giant has been debuting more and more vegan products. COK’s campaign with more than 30,000 supporters continues–with its most recent victory in the form of a super-cool new product.

If you’re in Southern California, your sweet tooth is in for a treat: Starbucks has just debuted a new line of 3D-printed vegan ice cream pops in select locations!

The frosty treats by Dream Pops come in four flavors: vanilla matcha, coconut latte, berry dreams, and chocolate lion — and they’ll be available at select LA Starbucks through October 5. According to PopSugar, “Dream Pops are so … pretty, they’ll turn anyone vegan.”

In March, Compassion Over Killing prompted Starbucks to announce a new line of vegan foods coming in 2018, and these popsicles are just the latest offering in a series of compassionate menu items the chain has been brewing up over the last year, including a protein-packed lentil bowl and a vegan cupcake in select locations, as well as a vegan macadamia oat cookie nationwide.

Though these pops are only in Los Angeles (so far!), they represent a growing movement towards more plant-based options in chains like Starbucks and beyond. Corporations are starting to hear our demands for plant-based food, and companies like Starbucks, A&W, TGI Friday’s, and more, are capturing their share of the market.

But we’re still waiting for a full plant-based meal on the coffee giant’s menu since its announcement at its annual shareholder meeting that a vegan food line was on the way. Join us in sharing this sweet news–and telling Starbucks that we’re still hungry for more vegan food!
