DC DiningWhile it’s political animals that DC is known for, it’s the animals being left off of Washingtonian’s plates that prompted Living Social to rank the nation’s capital as the “Top Vegetarian US City.” The survey, conducted last year, reveals that DC diners have the highest preference for vegetarian and vegan fare in the US—so it’s no wonder that more restaurants are adding delicious meat-free meals to their menus.

Just how many restaurants?

Our Fall 2012 edition of the pocket-sized Vegetarian Guide to DC is hot-off-the-presses, and features 40-pages of 400 veg-friendly restaurants, bakeries, and food trucks. The listings are compiled from our companion site VegDC.com, which offers hundreds more veg-friendly resources for eating out, dining-in, or ordering to-go.

Want to get your hands on a copy? If you’re in the DC-area, we’ll be debuting our new DC dining guide at the upcoming Taking Action for Animals Conference and National Animal Rights Conference. At both events, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other animal advocates and hear from many inspiring speakers, including COK’s own Executive Director, Erica Meier.

Can’t make it out for either of these great conferences? Order your FREE copy of the NEW Vegetarian Guide to DC online, and check out our other city guides to find out just how easy it is to find delicious animal-free foods.
