A growing number of people from coast to coast are choosing vegetarian foods as a way to protect their health, the planet, and animals—and restaurants everywhere are catching on. Including in Texas!

While Austin may be known as Longhorn country, it’s also home to dozens of eclectic cafes and popular restaurants offering enticing veg-friendly menus to the hungry masses. In fact, the city has become a hot spot for healthy and compassionate fare.

That’s why we’re excited to debut our new, 2012 edition of the Vegetarian Guide to Austin, a convenient tri-fold that boasts over 50 restaurants, food trucks, bakeries, and grocers in the state’s capital. The handy pocket Guide is the companion to COK’s website VegAustin.com, named “Best of Austin 2011” by the Austin Chronicle. The popular site offers nearly 300 veg-friendly resources for eating out, dining-in, or ordering to-go.

If you live in the Austin-area, stop by ATX Vegan Drinks’ Texas VegFest pre-party and COK benefit THIS FRIDAY (March 30) at Cheer Up Charlies, where we’ll be handing out the Guide for the first time. We’ll also be distributing copies at Texas VegFest the next day.

Can’t make either of those festivities? Order your FREE copy of the NEW Vegetarian Guide to Austin online, and check out our other city guides to find out just how accessible delicious, animal-free foods have become.
