This past weekend, Compassion Over Killing proudly participated in the 2nd annual iV Vegan Conference, a student activism and academic conference for students at Ivy League schools. Check out the photos below!
With about 150 attendees, the iV vegan conference was a huge success. The event brought together student activists from each of the Ivy League schools to learn about all things vegan: animal protection, human nutrition, environmental issues related to factory farming, and activism. Cheryl Leahy, Compassion Over Killing’s very own General Counsel, gave a powerful presentation about how new restrictive Anti-Whistleblower laws could dramatically impact how we conduct undercover investigations.
All in all, it was an inspirational weekend, and several of the students we met plan to join our US VegWeek campaign this April by planning events at their schools. Perhaps we’ll see some this summer also, during internships in our DC or LA offices. And as always, anyone who wants to get active with our efforts to help animals can sign up as a volunteer, join us at one of our upcoming events, or become a supporter today.
