Thanks to a campaign by Compassion Over Killing and Jane Velez-Mitchell, and thousands of requests from compassionate coffee consumers like you, Starbucks has offered dairy-free milks — almond, soy, and coconut! — for beverages, and added vegan sides, snacks, and a breakfast option.
But COK and our supporters have continued urging Starbucks to add hearty, filling, vegan foods — and the chain, which told COK they’ve been working on vegan options, is responding!
Now, the major coffee chain has just unveiled its NEW protein-packed Vegan Lentils and Vegetables Protein Bowl (we’re talking about a whopping 23 grams of protein), which has been selling out at some locations due to high demand!
And nationwide, Starbucks added, along with another refreshing dairy-free beverage, the Iced Cascara Coconutmilk Latte.
The new vegan bowl, which is now available at some locations, features brown rice, roasted tomatoes, and butternut squash, all topped with lemon-tahini dressing. Though it was added to the summer menu, you can enjoy it year-round at some Starbucks spots in Washington, DC, New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.
You’ve joined Jane Velez-Mitchell in asking for veggie options through the MyStarbucksIdea platform and posted to @Starbucks on social media by using your coffee cup for change, and it’s working! Please sign and share our petition to keep pouring the pressure on Starbucks to add more vegan options, like a muffin or sandwich, nationwide.
