Animal Outlook is seeking a talented and passionate freelance social media content creator to help amplify our mission of protecting farmed animals through powerful storytelling and strategic content.
About the Role:
We’re looking for someone who can transform compelling investigative footage into scroll-stopping social media content that educates, inspires, and drives action. You’ll be creating three posts per week across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts, reaching millions of people with content that matters.
This is a remote, freelance position perfect for a creator who wants to use their skills for meaningful impact while maintaining flexibility in their schedule.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll have exclusive access to our extensive library of footage from over 50 undercover investigations—raw, powerful material that exposes the reality of factory farming and drives real change in the food system. Your job is to craft this content into engaging, platform-optimized posts that resonate with diverse audiences and inspire them to take action.
Each week, you’ll produce three pieces of content distributed across our key platforms, ensuring each post is tailored to the unique audience and format of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. You’ll also join a 30-minute check-in call with our communications team to align on strategy, review performance, and collaborate on upcoming campaigns.
Who You Are:
You’re a skilled video editor and content strategist who understands what makes content perform on short-form video platforms. You know how to hook viewers in the first three seconds, tell a compelling story in under a minute, and craft captions that drive engagement and action. You’re comfortable working with sensitive footage and can balance emotional impact with strategic messaging. You’re self-motivated and organized, able to manage your own workflow and meet consistent deadlines. You have a genuine passion for animal protection, social justice, or advocacy work, and you’re excited about using your creative talents to make a difference.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience creating high-performing content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and/or YouTube Shorts
- Strong video editing skills with proficiency in tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or Canva
- Understanding of platform-specific best practices, trends, and algorithm dynamics
- Ability to craft compelling narratives from raw footage
- Experience with animal rights advocacy
- Comfort working with distressing investigative footage
- Excellent communication skills and reliability
- Portfolio or examples of previous social media content required
Time Commitment & Compensation:
This is a freelance position requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week, including content creation and one 30-minute weekly call with our team. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. This is an ongoing engagement with potential for growth as our digital presence expands.
