One of the best things about a new year is the kickoff of Girl Scout cookie season. Intrepid young women across the country set out to sell totally delicious baked goods — and all in the name of helping girls develop confidence, courage, and character.
And the best part? Girl Scouts’ vegan cookie options get more impressive every year! So plant-based eaters can chow down on these seasonal treats.
Keep in mind, Girl Scouts contracts with two different bakers: ABC Bakery and Little Brownie Bakers. If you’re lucky enough to live in a part of the country served by ABC, you’re in for a treat. There are a whopping FIVE vegan options to choose from this year! If you’re served by Little Brownie, your options are a bit more limited. Either way though, vegan Thin Mints are on the menu!
Thin Mints
This iconic cookie is now officially vegan: Both the ABC Bakery and Little Brownie Bakers versions are vegan, so you’re good to go no matter where you live. Mint meets chocolate in the most wonderful way. Be sure to clear out your freezer before you stock up.
Vegan varieties from ABC Bakery:
S’mores
New this year, this delightful flavor is everyone’s favorite mash-up: graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. Noms.
Thanks-A-Lots
These cookie classics with chocolate and shortbread are buttery, rich, and absolutely delish.
Lemonades
This jumbo-sized, summery treat has lemon icing and a super-cute citrusy design.
Peanut Butter Patties
Like a peanut butter cup — in cookie form … and vegan! Rich, creamy, and completely addictive.

How are they vegan when they contain palm oil? What about the cruelty to animals who are killed, injured or left homeless due to deforestation due to palm oil?
Palm oil is not an animal by-product so therefor it is vegan.
