What is the Animal Outlook Network?
The Animal Outlook Network is a new website and e-learning platform that helps you to become an impactful and effective advocate for animals.
This unique website offers several easy and effective ways to become a successful animal advocate, right at your fingertips.
The Training Hub will empower you with information about the key issues with animal agriculture. You’ll learn how animal agriculture causes the extreme suffering of billions of animals every year, as well as how it is detrimental to humans and the planet.
Then, when you’re ready to take action, the Action Center offers simple and effective online actions you can take to really make a difference for animals. You can take meaningful actions in the areas of: outreach, legal advocacy, and to help further our investigative work, too.
What’s unique about the Animal Outlook Network?
The Animal Outlook Network uses research from Yale Environmental Protection Clinic and the Center for Public Interest Communications at the University of Florida. This research analyzes how behavior change happens and how this can be applied to promote vegan eating as the key element to animal advocacy, in order to save as many animal lives as possible. By using science-backed frameworks, we work to empower people to participate in compassionate conversations with others about how they can help animals by choosing to eat vegan. Our website combines the science of change with the experience of grassroots activism to make a real impact for animals.
Jenny Canham, Director of Outreach and Engagement at Animal Outlook, explains the value this new platform has within the animal advocacy community.
“It’s essential that our advocacy training program is based on science rather than opinion. That’s why we’ve worked with two leading programs to unlock the science of behavior change.
As consumers, the most impactful way we can help animals, humans, and the planet is by eating vegan and empowering others to do the same, so we decided to create a training and action website around this.”
Every time you choose to eat vegan, you’re taking action for animals. This is the message we want to spread far and wide, using the science of behavior change.”
How can I use the Animal Outlook Network to improve my animal advocacy skills?
By signing up to the Animal Outlook Network, you’ll gain access to free, online training courses that are essential to impactful animal advocacy.
First, learn about the issues with animal agriculture through our interactive course that is divided into three sections: animals, humans, and the planet.
Next, learn about the key principles of behavior change, which will help you to have compassionate conversations within your community. This course explains the four principles of behavior change; self-efficacy, community, identity, and storytelling, and explains how you can use each one in your advocacy.
Once you’ve completed these foundation courses, you can take meaningful actions at our Action Center, including taking the VegPledge, distributing outreach cards to empower restaurants to offer more vegan options, and more – all designed to help grow veganism and save animals.
How can I sign up?
You can sign up by completing the Animal Outlook Network Sign Up form. We’ll then email you with the information you need to access our free training courses. By signing up, you are joining a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to becoming impactful and effective animal advocates.
