Today, Compassion Over Killing volunteers — including a costumed cow representing millions of real cows languishing in the dairy industry — took to the sidewalk outside Kraft Heinz’s annual shareholder meeting in Pittsburgh, letting the company’s investors know that consumers are moo-ving on from cruel dairy…and they want a vegan BOCA brand!
Just ahead of today’s meeting, major investment bank Credit Suisse labeled Kraft Heinz’ stock as “underperform[ing],” citing a lack of “strong, revolutionary” product innovation, but today’s event offered Kraft a way to change its lackluster outlook by serving the millions of shoppers who want fully plant-based products.
COK’s volunteers handed out hundreds of leaflets explaining that the company can become a true leader in plant-based innovation simply by dropping dairy from the BOCA line!
Our costumed cow drew the attention of shareholders, who even came over to pose for selfies, while COK volunteers distributed hundreds of postcards with the message: “Tell Kraft Heinz: Kraft a Better BOCA & Ditch Dairy!”
Through geo-targeted mobile ads, the cow’s compassionate message also reached thousands of people in and near the meeting venue.
Even Kraft Heinz has acknowledged the massive demand for vegan foods, and launched its Springboard Brands to back innovative plant-based startups.
By krafting a dairy-free BOCA, Kraft Heinz can move toward the future of food, too, and reach an ever-growing market already being served by its competitors, like Gardein and Beyond Meat, with 100% plant-based product lines.
