Vegan Policy

Animal Outlook engages in a wide range of campaigns to promote compassion, including empowering everyone to stand up for animals every time they sit down to eat by choosing to leave animals off their plates. We empower people to choose vegan in order to take action for animals – and helping humans and protecting the planet at the same time.

With this in mind, we have this vegan policy in place to ensure that our office, events, external representation, and fund use is aligned with our organizational mission and respects our team, donors, and - most importantly - the animals. This policy is both a vegan workplace policy and a compassionate purchasing policy. We hope to set an example – starting with our own team – that everyone can live their values in protecting animals.

All team members are respectfully asked to abide by the following policy:

• Compassionate Purchasing Policy: Animal Outlook dollars shall be spent only on non-animal products
  • Team members may not purchase any animal products with their Animal Outlook credit card, and Animal Outlook will not reimburse any funds spent on animal products. This applies regardless of whether the funds you wish to expense were spent on yourself, a volunteer, an intern, an extern, or a donor
  • When Animal Outlook buys food for its own events – internally or externally facing – or otherwise provides food, all of that food shall be vegan
• Vegan Workplace Policy: Vegan at least when working for or representing the organization
  • Any food and apparel at an Animal Outlook physical office space or event shall be free of animal products
  • When on video calls or in-person meetings with team members, interns, externs, volunteers, donors, or other third parties, refrain from consuming any animal products or wearing animal-based clothing
  • When attending any events on behalf of Animal Outlook or otherwise representing the organization, ensure that you do not consume animal products or wear animal-based clothing
