Harvest Compassion This Thanksgiving with an Animal-Friendly Feast!

Thanksgiving tradition is about celebrating life—and a growing number of Americans are choosing to do so by serving delicious animal-friendly vegetarian foods that everyone, including the turkeys, can be thankful for.

Did you know that the average American consumes 17 pounds of turkey meat per year, resulting in the annual slaughter of 252 million turkeys—more than 65 million of whom are killed during the winter holiday season alone?

Treated as little more than mere meat-producing machines from the moment they hatch, the vast majority of these intelligent birds spend their entire lives intensively confined inside massive sheds and will never set foot outside. To make matters worse, there are no federal laws in the United States protecting turkeys (or other birds raised for food) from such cruelty.

Animal-FriendlyFeast on This! The good news is that this holiday season, each of us can stand up for turkeys — and all animals — simply by leaving them off our plates. And it’s never been easier or more delicious.

As you gather with friends and family for Thanksgiving, show off your compassion by carving into a savory meatless roast, such as Tofurky, Field Roast’s Celebration Roast, or Gardein’s Stuffed Turk’y. Your taste buds, and the animals, will sing for joy!
