Move over “DC Meat Week” — now in its 5th year, the popular Washington DC Meat-Free Week is back and it kicks off on Monday, February 3! This week-long food frenzy celebration is a fun way to explore and enjoy several veg-friendly specials offered at restaurants throughout the nation’s capital.
New to the area or just visiting? You’ll soon discover that the DC-Metro area is a fully-loaded vegan haven pleasing the palates of compassionate diners from both inside and outside the beltway.

MONDAY, FEB 3: BBQ Kick-Off Party at Sticky Fingers Sweets and Eats – A direct response to Meat-Week, Meat-Free Week starts by showing off the delectable tastes and textures of vegan BBQ.
TUESDAY, FEB 4: Compassion Over Killing Benefit Day at Soupergirl – Stop by anytime on Tuesday for organic, vegan, kosher soups and salads – dine-in or carry-out – and a portion of your bill will be donated to COK!
WEDNESDAY, FEB 5: Wine Down Wednesday at Whole Foods Market – Visit the Foggy Bottom or P Street locations for a meat-free happy hour and wine tasting.
THURSDAY, FEB 6: Raw Happy Hour at Elizabeth’s Gone Raw – Enjoy vegan wine and beer, cocktail specials, and a variety of small plates – all showcasing the magic of raw food!
FRIDAY, FEB 7: Meat-Free Week Gives Back – Support Miriam’s Kitchen as they serve an all-vegan dinner to your neighbors in need.
SATURDAY, FEB 8: Vegan Pizza by the Slice at Bread & Brew – Just $5 will score you 2 slices of vegan pizza, your choice of cheese or pepperoni!
