We have many holidays to celebrate especially now that we’re approaching the end of the year and they’re all packed together. Today, however, is the most important of them all: National Chocolate Day – and we’re celebrating National Vegan Chocolate Day (I certainly hope you didn’t forget to mail your greeting cards in advance). What better day than today to explore the wide world of dairy-free chocolates and chocolatiers? And it’s the perfect time to sample sweets in preparation for Halloween!
For starters, you can make your chocolate-shopping very simple by sampling the offerings at entirely-vegan gourmet chocolatiers such as Sjaak’s, Chocolate Decadence, Allison’s Gourmet, or Nicobella. These companies alone offer dozens and dozens of delcious chocolate bars, fudges, truffles, hard caramels, brittles—and that’s just their chocolate selections!
If you’re still somehow unable to find the perfect flavor for you, consider larger companies that have vegan lines and offerings, including Endangered Species Chocolate (look for the “Certified Vegan” logo), Green and Black’s Organic (featuring many dairy-free dark chocolate options), Trader Joe’s, Chocolove (most of their dark chocolate is dairy-free), and many selections from the 365 Organic line of products at Whole Foods.
So get to shopping, get to noshing, and join us in celebrating National Vegan Chocolate Day!
