In celebration of National Pancake Day (September 26!), Compassion Over Killing and Vegan Outreach delivered 23,000 petition signatures from our joint campaign to IHOP’s headquarters in Glendale, California. The petition delivery was accompanied by a GIANT stack of vegan pancakes to drive home just how hungry we are for a vegan pancake at IHOP.

The campaign, launched this summer, is a joint effort between COK and Vegan Outreach. Despite being a beloved breakfast staple across the nation, IHOP’s stacks are falling short of increasing demand for compassionate vegan options. As public awareness continues to increase around the suffering of animals on factory farms, the harm to the environment from unsustainable animal agricultural practices, and the negative impact on human health from an animal meat-based diet, more and more people are looking to eat vegan food.

IHOP employees accepted our 23,000 petitions and some packets of Follow Your Heart’s new Rocket Cakes vegan pancake mix. We’re hoping this sparks some ideas on IHOP’s team, which recently told a supporter they were “closely looking into vegan options.”

COK’s Scott David and VO’s Taylor Radig were joined by other activists and Jane Unchained News, who filmed the big day!

ADD YOUR VOICE: Sign the petition today to join forces with Compassion Over Killing and Vegan Outreach in encouraging IHOP to cater to the growing demand for vegan options by dishing out vegan pancakes nationwide!
