Plant-based eating is soaring, and vegan options are starring on menus and store shelves nationwide: From Starbucks, to CVS, to just about everywhere you look.
Enter: the Beyond Burger, Beyond Meat’s juicy plant-based burger meaty enough to appear in meat aisles. And now, it’s hit menus at Alamo Drafthouse. The national movie theater chain is testing the meatless burger at all of its Austin locations and one in Denver and in Springfield Missouri, Eater Austin reports.
If the plant-based patty proves popular, its cameo will turn into a starring role on Alamo theater menus across the US, and it sounds like the cinema chain’s betting on the power of plants:
“Based off of the initial tasting of the Beyond Meat product, we felt this would be a good item to be able to offer our guests that are looking for a vegan burger,” Jeff Mann, vice president of food and beverage told Eater Austin.
So, if you’re near an Alamo Drafthouse serving up the Beyond Burger, give it a try and the big burger just might hit big screens across the US soon.
