In honor of Black History Month, I am sharing these delicious vegan recipes that highlight soul food flavors we know and love, made with nutritious plant-based ingredients.
Soul Food cooking is one of the earliest cultural traditions of African Americans. Our enslaved ancestors cooked with the limited foods available to them, most often vegetables, grains, and fruits.
While contemporary soul food dishes tend to be high in fat and loaded with animal products, these soulful, healthy vegan recipes are powered by plants.
Watch these delicious dishes featured on Good Morning Washington, and scroll down for the recipes!
