There’s a reason the cookie monster’s message has stayed relatable to kids from the 1960’s through now — cookies are delicious.

But the idea that they need to be made with dairy and eggs is totally old school. Today’s best cookies are made with plant-based ingredients, and they’re just as mouthwatering as their non-vegan cookie counterparts. So, here are six melt-in-your-mouth vegan cookies for every lover of doughy sweets.

Eat your heart out, Cookie Monster.

Just Cookies
Hampton Creek’s new, individually wrapped cookie creations have been spotted in Target stores nationwide. These soft, rich snacks come in Double Chocolate Espresso and Chocolate Chunk. Put ‘em in the microwave (after removing the wrapper, of course) for a toasty treat.

Trader Joe’s Joe Joe’s
Though Oreos are accidentally vegan, here’s a just-as-delicious chocolatey -vanilla option. Trader Joe’s releases different Joe Joe’s seasonally, too, so there’s a peppermint bark version for Christmas; a pumpkin version for Halloween; and a mango version for summer. Try ‘em all — you won’t regret it.

Biscoff Cookies
You may have first been introduced to these cinnamon-esque, crunchy cookies on Delta Airlines — they’ve been a flight staple for decades. You can also buy them in your average grocery store, however. They’re crisp, delicious, and great with coffee. (Oh, and there’s also a Biscoff Cookie Butter if you’d rather spread your cookies on toast!)

Alternative Baking Company Cookies
These huge, chewy cookies make an epic dessert. They’ve been a long-time vegan favorite, and come in a whole host of flavors, including Colossal Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Persuasion, Outrageous Oatmeal Raisin, and Phenomenal Pumpkin Spice, among others.

Nomoo Vegan Cookies
Looking for your traditional cookie favorites — only made with cruelty-free, high-quality ingredients? Try Nomoo. The company’s cookies come in flavors like Big Chipper, Chocolate Chills (chocolate with peppermint), Oatmeal Choco-Chip, and lots more, and they’re made with Callebaut Belgian chocolate, King Arthur flour, Nielsen-Massey Pure Vanilla extracts, Earth Balance, and the best in oats, nuts, dried fruits, and spices.

Enjoy Life Mini Cookies
If you like your cookies on the go, Enjoy Life is now offering several of their sweet treats in single-serve packs. Look for crunchy chocolate chip, crunchy double chocolate, crunchy sugar crisp, soft-baked double chocolate brownie, and more. They also make larger-sized soft-baked cookies, so you can give those a go, too.

And if you’d rather make your own cookies — we totally understand. Try our chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe! No one will ever know there’s no dairy or eggs involved.
