Celebrate Pride Month With Compassion For All

June first marks the beginning of Pride month: a commemoration of the Stonewall Riots that some consider to be the spark that lit the fire of gay liberation. This month we celebrate our fellow activists working towards a more compassionate world.

Remember: the first Pride was a protest! Many LGBTQ people and activists (like Jane Velez-Mitchell, Joshua Katcher, pattrice jones, Jasmin Singer, and Mariann Sullivan) enjoy a vegan diet and also work to protect animals. Veganism doesn’t just mean a more non-violent lifestyle that benefits animals, humans, and the environment! It’s also a way to stay healthy, sustaining your activism by reducing illness and burnout that could knock you out of the game.

Our movements are stronger together. At the end of the day, the system of oppression that attempts to hold back LGBTQ people is the same one slaughtering billions of animals a year for corporate profit. Working together, we can continue to take back our freedom and build a kinder world for all.

We believe that no one is free when others are oppressed.

Mark this month of compassion with us. Look for COK at the Capital Pride Festival in Washington, DC on June 9th!

Happy Pride!
