CompassionThis past Saturday, more than 250 COK supporters—including very special guests Maryland Senator Jamie Raskin, Cupcake Wars champion and owner of Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats Doron Petersan, and COK founder Paul Shapiro—joined us to celebrate the power of compassion at our annual holiday party. It was a fun-filled evening looking back at our 2012 successes and looking forward to an even better 2013. We even premiered our year-in-review video highlighting the many accomplishments that your support helped make possible (video is embedded below)!

Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated DC-area volunteers—as well as those who traveled great distances to both attend and help—this event was a tremendous success! We raised over $22,000 to fund our hard-hitting campaigns, legal advocacy, investigations, restaurant outreach, and, of course, pro-vegetarian commercials. Thanks to our December matching campaign, every donation made during our party was doubled — so in all, we raised over $44,000!

Between a fabulous silent auction packed with items from high-profile animal-friendly companies, an opportunity to see old friends and meet new people, and an all-you-can-eat vegan buffet including entrees from the DC area’s very best restaurants, it was truly a night to remember. Check out our photo album featured on our Facebook page.

Couldn’t make the party? There’s plenty of holiday celebration to go around! Now through Dec. 31, with your gift of $100 or more, we’ll send you a free box of decadent all-vegan milk chocolate truffles (made by Sjaak’s) with a special message of compassion. And since this is a December offer, your donation will be be doubled, going twice as far for animals!
