McDonald’s: Honor Your Commitment To A Kinder Supply Chain

chickens on factory farm McDonald's

Hundreds of millions of chickens are raised and killed for the McDonald’s menu every year. These sensitive, intelligent birds are crowded by the thousands in filthy, ammonia-ridden sheds, deprived of the ability to engage in many of their natural behaviors. They are bred to grow so unnaturally large, so unnaturally fast that their legs often collapse under the weight of their own morbidly obese bodies. If a human baby grew that quickly, she’d be 660 pounds at just two months of age.

Although McDonald’s has touted its new “global commitment to source chickens raised with improved welfare outcomes,” it has yet to address these massive sources of suffering in birds in its supply chain. Meanwhile, dozens of McDonald’s competitors have committed to requiring basic changes from their chicken suppliers–changes that would reduce the severe crowding on factory farms and the crippling effects of rapid growth.

As McDonald’s lags behind on animal welfare, millions of American consumers are demanding plant-based alternatives to meat, dairy and eggs. Chains like White Castle, TGI Fridays, BurgerFi and Tropical Smoothie already cater to the massive, growing market of compassionate eaters by offering vegan burgers and sandwiches. McDonald’s Finland and Sweden also recently rolled out a “McVegan” burger after a successful test period–but their U.S. counterpart’s menu offers no vegan burger and abounds with cheap, cruelly produced meat. It’s time for McDonald’s U.S. to step up as a true food leader and offer a vegan burger.

Leave a comment below telling McDonald’s that this massive suffering has got to stop. Join us in asking the company to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding and horrific living conditions for chickens — and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu.

VickiA vegan burger would be a great addition to your menu, along with vegan cheese, vegan sausage and pancakes made with vegan egg substitute and biscuits made with soy or almond milk! As it is now, there is NOTHING on your menu I can eat. Even when I want a cup of coffee, you don't have soy or almond milk creamer for me. PLEASE OFFER VEGAN ALTERNATIVES FOR THOSE OF US WHO CARE ABOUT ANIMALS AND THE ENVIRONMENT!
Thank you!

RubyAll the different kinds of McDonald's burgers were my favorite, until I learned of the horrific animal involved with the products.

I would urge McDonald's to offer some vegan burgers so that I may enjoy dining at McDonald's again.
MarkAlso I want Burger King to go vegan burger, not vegetarian that included egg & milk, too, by using Beyond Meat!
PanyaAlso take meat products and by-products out of non-meat foods!

KImAn animals life is just as important as a humans life. They also feel the same pain & suffering that a human does. End the senseless slaughter of millions of chicken and other animals now. Just because they have no voice to speak up for themselves, it doesnt make it right or ok....It’s inhumane, barbaric, unhealthy & wrong. Please, please, please stop slaughtering our beautiful animals. PLEASE!

DavidAnimals are not humans...agree...but they are sentient. As humans, with the ability to understand what this means, why don't we act like it? I'll challenge anyone to debate why the dignity of being human should not encompass compassion.
RavenAnimals are sentient beings who were put here for their own purpose . . . . not to be exploited and murdered by humans. They are friends, not food.
YvonneAnimals matter, so let us create a world that cares for animals!
CarolAnimals should not be cruelly and inhumanely killed for my food. There are viable options.
LisaAny firm of abuse is unacceptable.
MariaAs consumers we reject what MacDonald´s does to chicken on the twenty first century. You must rethink your backwardly policy. A way to stay tunned with us is offering more veggie dishes: We want less blood in ur plates! And no hen being tortured for eggs!
JoyAs a consumer it would seem any intelligent thinking being would believe in purchasing chickens from a supplier who offers free range and natural feed to animals. I assume you are those people and request that any business with suppliers who raise chickens in manner but free range and natural feed be removed from your restaurants. I also request a vegan burger be offered in all USA restaurants as it is the future of our countries eating habits and will continue to grow.

Thank you
FumikoAs a leader of fast food industry, I expect McDonald to lead and show compassion.
Millenniums will favor it and your sales will go up.
Please think about sinless voiceless animals!
JimAs a Mcdonalds customer, I am disappointed to cruelty and inhumanity in your supply chain. It is unwise to assume your customers share your indifference. Time for progress.
Rev. RoalndAs a member of the clergy I find it offensive that anyone or any organization would disrespect God's creation. When God created the animals of the earth on the sixth day it was never his plan for those animals to be confined, abused or denied the opportunity to perform their natural God-given functions. Not one sparrow falls that goes unnoticed by God and when we harm any of God's creatures we harm God as well. I cannot fathom how much pain McDonald's has already inflicted upon the Lord, and continues to inflict. It is unfortunate that McDonald's chooses cash over compassion and money over mercy. In the end you will be accountable for the great evils you intentionally inflict on our fellow creatures. I pray God will show more mercy upon you than you have shown to that which God loves and cherishes.
EileenAs an animal welfare advocate and a vegan, I am writing to strongly urge McDonald's to implement a basic welfare policy that puts an end to some of the most egregious animal cruelty practices so prevalent in fast food businesses like yours including painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific "living" conditions. Animals are living, breathing, sentient beings who feel pain and suffer just as we do and it is time for such torturous profit-driven practices to come to an end.

Moreover, I urge McDonald's to join the growing number of food chains who have heard the pleas of compassionate consumers calling for a plant-based burger to be added to their menu. This action is a win-win for not only the animals and the consumers but for your company as the addition of a vegan burger will attract more customers who until now have been unable to find anything on your menu that is vegan friendly. Consumer interest in plant-based food products is skyrocketing, not only out of concern for animals and the environment but for the myriad health benefits of a vegan diet. To ignore this fact is to be out of step with current trends. Therefore, I call on you to introduce vegan options on your menu in the very near future.

Thank you for your serious consideration.
JudyAs an industry leader, I am appalled that you aren't doing the right thing for your customers and for the chickens.
KristiAs an owner of five rescue birds by chance and now vegan because of their amazing companionship they provide, please allow for more vegan options. Ever since rescuing them attending McDonald’s is only to feed the seagulls and grab an occasional Diet Coke for myself. I’d love to pick up something for myself but unfortunately there is barely even a d cent salad option. Please McDonald’s use your convenience to save the lives of many innocent animals and prolog the life of mankind by offering us easy and convenient healthy vegan options! You have the power to make the world a better place!!

Amanda TruebloodAs someone who is vegan for animal reasons, I have not been able to eat at McDonalds in over a decade, because you do not offer a single item on your menu without animal products! I am not anti-chain restaurants, and I am not vegan for health reasons. I visit Chipotle and Starbucks so often that most of the workers at the locations near my house recognize me. If McDonalds had vegan options, I would absolutely eat there, particularly because McDonalds is often open later than other restaurants. It is 2018, I do not understand why McDonalds refuses to add vegan items to their menu. Please improve your animal welfare standards and add vegan options to your menu. Thank you for your time.

Since you have failed to address the suffering of animals involved in your supply chain, perhaps you should follow the lead of McDonald's in Finland & Sweden & offer a McVegan burger in the U.S. Plant based protein is a healthier alternative & might just extend the lives of some of your customers. I remember a televised segment on McDonald's test kitchens that illustrated how much time & effort goes into developing new items for you menu. Surely, these folks can come up with a delicious alternative to your current fat saturated menu. By the way, you would impress those of us who are concerned by the pollution caused by the excessive use of plastic products, particularly straws by coming up with a straw that is more easily bio-degradable. DanDear McDonald's

Please consider more healthy vegan options for consumers in the USA. I'd love to go to the restaurant more if there were more meat free sandwiches that I could select.

Thank you.
TraceyDear McDonald's Management Team-

Please consider being more compassionate toward the birds and animals you are using in your products. Conditions for these sensitive, emotional animals could be dramatically improved and it's time to do so.

We are realistic that McDonald's is not going to go plant based overnight but could you at least start offering the option of a vegan burger? Not a vegetarian burger (which might contain eggs or milk) but a 100% plant based vegan burger.

As a committed vegan...I thank you!

Sincerely, Tracey Jackson Soucy
RachelDear McDonalds, cruelty is NOT good enough! On behalf of the animals change your suppliers to ethical and humane farmers.
CameronDear McDonald's, I've missed you since going vegan last year. Please start offering vegan options so I can be one of your patrons again! Vegan chicken tenders taste almost exactly like the real thing, and the Beyond Burger is delish. Just some suggestions! Thanks.
LAURA PLUMBDear McDonald's,

I have not eaten at your restaurant since becoming vegetarian in 2002, then vegan in 2013. I wish you had plant-based options (a side-salad, hold the cheese, hold the croutons, hold the dressing does NOT count). For people who do still eat animals, but want to reduce animal cruelty, please address the animal welfare issues in your supply chain, such as painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions. Cows, chickens, and pigs are intelligent and sensitive animals that feel pain, stress, and do not deserve the cruel treatment they face at factory farms and slaughter houses.

For vegans like me who will not abide by any animal cruelty, please add plant-based options to your menu, like a vegan burger, vegan chicken sandwich, and vegan french fries. Boca has a great vegan "chicken" patty you could use to make vegan chicken sandwiches. Just Mayo, Follow Your Heart, and other brands have vegan mayonnaise you could use. Follow Your Heart also has vegan cheese slices that are really good! Adding hearty vegan options would increase your consumer base dramatically.

Thank you for your time and consideration of my suggestions.

Sincerely,
Laura
TraceyDear McDonald's,

The world is moving away from diets that rely on cruelty. And toward healthy, compassionate, plant-based diets. It would serve you and your customers to migrate your offerings in this direction. Please do the right thing and we will all benefit.

Thank you.
ScottDear McDonald's:

Hundreds of millions of chickens are raised and killed for the McDonald’s menu every year. So why is McDonald’s refusing to be a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu, and refusing to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions of the chickens???
DaleDear Sir,

I am aware that your animals live in filthy crowded sheds for the duration of their lives. It is a well known fact that chickens are very smart sentient beings who need time outside to stretch their wings, bask in the sunlight, and pluck at the grass. Because of the conditions your animals have to live, I have stopped eating at McDonald's and have urged others to do the same, and will continue to spread the word until cruelty is non-existent.

Sincerely,
Miss Dale Morris

KarenEach day, the demand for plant-based foods have been growing at an alarming rate. My family went to a casual vegan restaurant this Saturday---with reservations--and still had to wait nearly 45 minutes for our seat (which in any other restaurant would not have waited). If a human baby grew that quickly, she’d be 660 pounds at just two months of age!

As McDonald’s lags behind on animal welfare, millions of American consumers are flocking away from this cruelty–and toward kinder, plant-based protein. Chains like White Castle, TGI Fridays, BurgerFi, and Tropical Smoothie are already catering to the massive, growing market of compassionate eaters by offering vegan burgers and sandwiches. McDonald’s Finland and Sweden also recently rolled out a “McVegan” burger after a massively successful test period–but their US counterpart’s menu offers no vegan burger and abounds with cheap, cruelly produced meat. American consumers are hungry for a McVegan burger too! It’s time for McDonald’s US to step up as a true food leader and dish out a vegan burger.
This massive suffering won’t fly with consumers!I ask the company to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.

Karissa CampbellI already do not go to McDonald's, but I assure you, with more compassionate actions, your business will do better!
MikeI am a huge fan of plant-based protein substitutes. You can be a leader in this effort, bringing affordable alternatives to literally millions of customers.
JillI am a shareholder and expect MCD to adjust its practices to guarantee better treatment of animals!
DanaI am a vegan and would like to see a vegan burger on McDonald's menu.
EvelynI am a vegan so I would be very happy to have McDonald’s put a veggie burger on their menu.
CarolynI am a vegetarian and would very much like to see a cruelty -free menu at McDonald's. I like McDonald's and enjoy your salads and milk shakes and believe that you would like to see a more cruelty-free world just as I would. Please offer Vegan and vegetarian burgers and Vegan and vegetarian sandwiches. There are a lot of plant based alternatives that taste similar to meat and have similar textures, such as soy hot dogs, soy burgers and soy or plant based chicken alternatives. You can be a true leader in doing this, and it will broaden your customer base. Most importantly it saves the lives of all those intelligent and sensitive beings that are being slaughtered.
Thank you for listening.
JasonI am asking McDonalds to please implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu.

-Thank you
LauraI am asking that you implement a welfare policy that addresses the horrific abuse that occurs in factory farms and slaughterhouses to animals raised for food. And please add some plant-based burgers to your menu. The world is going vegan, keep up with the times!
JuliaI am disappointed that McDonalds isn't more concerned about the basic welfare of the animals they use for their food. There is no justification for not committing to humane practices.

I will be watching closely to see whether McDonalds will reconsider and implement basic welfare policies for the animals they profit from. Unless they do, my family and I will not buy from them.
SandraI am going to cease going to McDonald's until major changes are made to how the chickens are stuffed together then stuffed with food so you can sell them. This is animal cruelty at its worst. I have always liked BK better but have been going to McDonald's as my boyfriend likes some of your food but now I won't be a McDonald's customer until the chickens are placed in a humane area and treated humanely.
ValerieI am really aware of the deplorable conditions that have existed for chickens used for man’s consumption. This existence is so awful for any living being. Please reconsider how these beautiful creatures are being mistreated and follow other Chain restaurants in a different approach to the continued suffering of chickens.
Lisa AnnI am surprised that McDonald's is not at the forefront, leading the way to more humane conditions for the animals used in McDonald's meals. Shame on you, McDonald's. Get with it.
BarbaraI am Vegan, and I rarely eat at McDonald's since the main option offered is salads. Most of the salads are not vegan friendly either. It would be nice to be able to get vegan food at your restaurant like other fast food places that offer them. I would like to try a McVegan burger or chicken nuggets that are not from real chickens. Think about expanding your market and moving toward a future of more plant based and suffering free foods.
JoanieI am writing to ask you to please introduce a McVegan burger to the U.S. market. There are so many people looking for plant based food, I know it will be a success! Thank you for your consideration.
JoanI and my family no longer eat meat or dairy or eggs. We would like healthy options when we go to a fast food restaurant.
NancyI BOYCOTT mcd's for their abusive animal practices and their reluctance to carry any HUMANE VEGAN AND gluten-free food. I prefer to support companies that are HUMANE!
CaroleI can never go to mcd's because there is no veggie burger!! I love my pet chickens, they are delight ful and friendly, busy, love to sunbathe and dig for bugs. They have friend groups, and love affairs, trust me, chickens nev er get a chance to show their awesome side, so i don't want to eat them, so i can't eat at your restaurants, thanks, Carole McDonald
marieI certainly would never eat at McDonalds as long as they are part of the cruelty
AudraI currently do not eat at McDonald's or any other restaurant that doesn't have vegetarian/vegan options. I would gladly have at McDonald's probably daily if a plant based protein was offered. I would feel so much better about eating there if they committed to improving lives of the animals they depend on, the animals who live their short lives in mysery so that nuggets and burgers and fish filets, because what would we do without those things?/s Get with the times 🙂
deborahI demand that you implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu.
JoleneI do not eat at McDonald's because I will only buy organic, humanely raised foods. I, myself, do not eat meat and am always pleased when there are vegetarian and vegan menu items.
nancyi hate your food. nothing good about it. i'm so glad i never got hooked on it.
SavannahI have not eaten at McDonald’s in years due to the unhealthy nature of their food. The animal cruelty is the topping on the cake. I will not ever take my children, or anyone for that matter, to eat at McDonald’s. I do not and will not support them. I wil coninute to voice my option against McDonald’s.
MeganI have not eaten McDonalds in years because of its connection to animal cruelty in its food sources. I will never eat there again, and encourage my friends and family to do the same, unless meaningful changes are made.
kimI have removed McD from my financial investments until it demonstrates corporate responsibility by promoting plant-based alternatives and ending its support for animal cruelty. looking forward to when McD changes its practices and I may return as a an investor
SimoneI have seen, first hand, the suffering inflicted on birds by breeding them for rapid growth .
McDonald's, swap the cruelty for vegan foods!
CarolI haven't purchased anything at a McDonalds in over 20 years - not even a coffee - and I love coffee. Just the smell of your "restaurants" makes me sick. They smell of CRUELTY.
LindsayI hope McDonald's will follow the lead of so many other restaurant chains and add a vegan patty to its menu. The Beyond Burger is amazing, and although I haven't gone to McDonald's in years that would bring me back!
AnnI hope that McDonald's will get away from using factory farmed animals. Factory farms do not treat animals humanely. It's about time that McDonald's made this change. In addition, it would be nice if McDonald's would start offering non-meat alternatives for those of us that don't eat meat.

Thank you.
FredaI live near some of these mega-factories. Trust me, these birds are nothing more than $$ to the overseers; so much to the extent that they have to have these horrible conditions to play the "numbers game" for enough to survive to make it to market. It is a vicious rat race of birds in and birds out --dead, alive or maimed to their next horrific destination. If the animals were raised humanely, I propose that these companies' bottom line would actually increase. More chickens would survive, more line workers would survive with arms in tact and less inputs would be needed to perpetuate this unnatural and unfair system. P.S. if you began to serve a plant based sandwich, I might actually visit McDonald's again after my 18-year hiatus.
PatriciaI long ago stopped eating at McDonald's restaurants because I am trying to improve my health through my diet and McDonald's food does not fit into my philosophy of clean eating. I am very concerned, however, about the treatment of animals in the food supply chain and I absolutely abhore abuse and mistreatment of any animal. The treatment of farm animals in the factory farms is especially concerning to me. Please offer a vegan burger and I will go back to McDonald's.
chrisi never eat at mcdonald's, don't know why anyone does
JudyI never set foot in a McDonalds for a number of reasons, including the vast, factory raised chickens whose corpses are served in your restaurant and your vast carbon footprint. Serve a vegan burger and I'd consider patronizing McDonalds.
EleI refuse to eat McDonald or any fast food because of the way they treat animals.
CynthiaI support fast food establishments that offer a veggie burger option. The way these poor creatures are treated is horrific!
AdamI urge you to implement a basic welfare policy for chickens that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions. I hope you will become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.
VirginiaI urge you to include a veggie burger to your menu for those opposed to animal cruelty. I also urge you to only buy from suppliers who humanely raise their chickens and beef cattle--without antibiotics that humans end up consuming in retail products!
NikkiI used to eat McDonald’s every week prior to becoming a vegan. In 2001 I stopped eating meat and since then I have not eaten McDonald’s due to their lack of concern for animal welfare. More and more people are moving toward healthier and more animal-compassionate consumerism. It’s time you caught up before you get left behind. Progress will not wait for you.
LaniI used to go to McDonald's at least once a week for lunch. When I start learning how McDonald's treats their livestock,
I was sickened by these horrible stories. I stopped going to McDonald's years ago and have not gone back since.

This is unacceptable to put profit over the well being of living creatures.
TaylorI will boycott McDonald's due to your failure to address the massive sources of suffering of birds in your supply line. I will actively tell my network of family and friends to also avoid McDonald's until this issue is seriously addressed. I will also actively support those restaurants that have committed to requiring basic welfare changes from their chicken suppliers such as reducing the severe crowding on factory farms and dealing with the crippling effects of rapid growth. I will also avoid McDonald's until you seriously commit to providing plant-based/vegan alternatives in all of your restaurants throughout the US and the world. It is time for McDonald's to step up and be a leader in the fast food industry again. Lead the way with vegan options, environmentally responsible business practices, and basic animal welfare standards.
EricI will encourage everyone I know to boycott McDonald's until they change.
jacquelineI will never promote any type of animal abuse or cruelty and would never eat anything MdDonalds sells it’s all toxic
LukeI would consider eating at McDonald's if they offered vegan, plant-based food options.
MalcolmI would eat at McDonald's if you offered healthy vegan burgers. I can no longer support animal cruelty, abuse, and slaughter.

Thank you.
RobertI would greatly appreciate your consideration in serving McVegan burger in the United States. It simply makes logical sense to put vegan options on your menus, given the number of vegetarians and vegans in the world today. Thank you for your consideration.
JennyI would like McDonald's to consider a veggie burger. Follow suit with Burger King who offers one and Taco Bell, which has many vegetarian options. Fortunately, we are becoming more informed about how much healthier a vegetarian option is - better for the environment and considerably better for the animals that suffer on factory farms, such as, where you source your meat from.
SherryI would like to ask McDonald's to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu.
PeggyI would like to see McDonalds also turn to cruelty free methods for obtaining all of their meat and dairy products. Such a giant company could impact other companies and bring in new customers who feel this is very important!
TonyaI would like to see McDonalds do the right thing and stop using and abusing chickens. I would rather pay more for a quality product that was treated humanely.
jamilaI would like to see McDonald's take consumers opinions more seriously and implement actual animal welfare reforms for the billions of chickens in your supply chain. Right now, you're sourcing from suppliers who have unnatural growth rates for birds, thereby crippling them, and who also do not provide enough natural enrichment and emotional opportunities for chickens. Your competitors, among them Burger King and TGI Fridays (who I am now patronizing again after a hiatus of many years because they had no vegan options, but have recently added the Beyond Burger to their menu, and I love it!!) are already taking steps to change with the times and offer more vegan options as well as source from suppliers who care more about animals. It's time for McDonald's to do the same--maybe then, I can go back to eating at McDonald's, for, much like TGI Friday's used to be, McDonald's isn't very vegan friendly.
Thank you,
Jamila HadjSalem

MichaelI would love a veggie burger
PatI would love to buy a garden burger, i haven't eaten red meat since 2000
ElsyI’m asking McDonald’s to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.
RebeccaI'd love some vegan choices
MartinI'd love to return to McDonald's restaurants but they'll need to add more vegan dining options first.
RayleenI'd love to see McDonald's honestly address the animal cruelty still found in their supplier's facilities. It is time for the human race to evolve, like we did in this country regarding slavery, and insist on the humane treatment of all animals.
I'd also like the opportunity to purchase cruelty free veggie burgers from McDonald's restaurants.
Another concern of mine, is regarding the non biodegradable straws currently in use at McDonald's restaurants. Please consider an Earth friendly alternative.
BobbyIf McDonald's cares about their consumers as well as the Planet, you should offer vegan meat options!
JeannieIf your company can't be humane and treat animals with compassion and give them a decent life, then you ought to quit what you serve. Have you considered what your life would be like in those conditions? Think about it for a minute or five. No one would be okay with it so why do you think animals don't deserve the same conditions? Grow up and be kind for heavens sake.
PatI'm all in!
MikiI'm NOT loving it.
JohnI'm not Mclovin your animal cruelty. There are delicious non-animal products that McDonald's could use to make their chain cruelty free and so much more healthier.
SandraI'm writing to ask you to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu. Thank you.

MarkIt is a disgrace how you torture these defenseless Chickens. I haven't eaten in a McDonalds in 10 years and even if you had plant based items on your menu, I could never in good conscious set foot in or buy anything from a corporation which is as cruel and unfeeling toward the welfare of these beautiful birds. How do you sleep at night?
SharonIt is time to make changes!!
HusseinIt is time to offer healthier vegan foods that are also cruelty free.
ChantelleIt is time to step up and deliver vegan burgers. Implement a basic welfare policy that addressess painful rapid grpwth, extreme crowding and the horrific living conditions. Become a true food leader and add a plant based burger menu to your customers.
DarleneIt is unethical to torture any animal and that includes chickens/.

SuzanneIt is YOU heartless humans at McDonald's who should be treated to the cruelty that these innocent animals are subjected to. You are reprehensible!
CarolIt would seem to be in the companies best interest to respond to the millions of its customer's complaints about the lack of sensitivity the company has shown toward the factory farmed animals used in their products. This situation must be addressed immediately. It is an urgent matter both in terms of customer service as well as common decency. Animal cruelty cannot be allowed to needlessly continue like this when steps could easily be taken to rectify the situation and help animals live healthy and happy lives prior to slaughter, instead of needlessly torturing them.

Yours very sincerely and respectfully,
Mrs. Carol M. Kommerstad-Reiche
DarrenIt’s bad enough that so many people that are aware of the facts continue to eat meat but until you go completely plantpowered company wide, at least start the process on animal welfare.
MarkIt’s such a small step. Please take it

Thank u

Mark
JillianIt’s time for McDonald’s US to step up as a true food leader and dish out a vegan burger. Thanks for your time.
CarolIt’s time McDonalds!!
SusanIt’s time to Change! Be compassionate and help
the animals you profit from. Please stop their lives
a living hell. Put yourself in their place
and give them the life you would want or
the life you would give your pet,
MariIt’s time to stop this inexcusable cruelty!
JimItis despicable the way corporations treat animals. Its sickening.
danielIt's 2018 and time for McDonald's to ditch the dead animal products !
CarolIt's bad enough that the chickens live such short lives before they are killed, but you could at least see that they live in humane conditions with no overcrowding and are not kept in cruel wire cages. Also, any employee who abuses an animal must be fired immediately. Let the poor things go outside in good weather and enjoy grass and sunshine. Try to put yourself in their position and see how you would feel if you had to live in the awful conditions many chickens must endure.
HollyIt's time for a change!!
JudyIt's time to accept that people are leaning towards humane treatment of animals bred to feed us. I pay more for organic products, including meat and free range organic eggs. I hear more & more people blasting McDonalds for offering unhealthy fare and I think McDonalds is feeling it in their pockets. Add to this inhumane treatment of animals in its supply chain and McDonalds will really be hurting in the future.
jonIts time to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu.
David HarrisIt's way past time.

BarbaraLarge corporations are starting to face the fact that more people are turning to eating more of a plant-based diet and realizing there are profits to be made. I never even think to go to a McDonald's because I don't eat meat but I'd be more likely to if there were plant-based options.
KentLess meat, more plant-based menu-items-- PLEASE.

DeniseMaking a commitment to animal welfare and adding plant-based protein to your menu will resonant with your customers and also bring new customers to your restaurants. Animal welfare is on the minds of consumers now more than ever and we want changes that bring an end to the suffering animals endure.
aliceMassive suffering must stop: NOW please
JamesMassive suffering won’t fly with consumers! Join us in asking the company to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu
MMc Donald’s, please become a compassionate leader in the food industry by offering vegan options and eliminating torturous, cruel, inhumane treatment of all animals.
FREDERICKMcCruelty- I'm not loving it. Animals deserve better.
SugandhaMcD, as a leader in the fast food industry, you have the power and moral obligation to do what is right. As we all know, smart & caring creatures suffer terribly in factory farms (there is also scientific evidence to support this). Animals having a nervous system just like ours, they also have the same desires. Cruelty of any kind to any animal is never right. Just honestly watch animal rights videos factory farms, honestly. Please, do the right thing!

I used to go to McDonald's couple of times a week but ever since seeing this cruelty and choosing to live a more compassionate lifestyle, I rarely go now.
Please introduce the McVegan. Thank you
LenoraMcDonald’s- you have yet to address the massive sources of suffering in birds in your supply chain! Dozens of your competitors have committed to requiring basic changes from their chicken suppliers–changes that would reduce the severe crowding on factory farms and the crippling effects of rapid growth.
Millions of American consumers are moving away from this cruelty–and toward kinder, plant-based protein. Dozens of restaurant chains are already meeting the needs of the massive, growing market of compassionate eaters by offering vegan burgers and sandwiches. McDonald’s Finland and Sweden also recently rolled out a “McVegan” burger after a massively successful test period–but their US counterpart’s menu offers no vegan burger and abounds with cheap, cruelly produced meat. American consumers are eager for a McVegan burger too! It’s time for McDonald’s US to step up as a true food leader and dish out a vegan burger.
This massive suffering won’t fly with consumers! I STRONGLY URGE you to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu!
MelinaMcDonald’s - your “global commitment to source chickens raised with improved welfare outcomes” is not fooling anyone. Demand that your suppliers make necessary changes in the way they raise their chickens. Rapid growth and overcrowding are cruel and inhumane practices and public interest in this issue is growing ever faster. Make the change or lose customers.

Add vegan items to your menu. More and more people are switching to a plant based diet and demanding sustainable options from restaurants. Expand your paying clientele by offering a plant based patty, vegan cheese and mayo, as well as vegan salad dressings. You are one of the top dogs of the industry. Lead by example.

Again, make the change or lose customers.

Please implement a meaningful welfare policy that addresses the painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions that hundreds of millions of birds in your supply chain must suffer through.

.
KerriMcDonald's has touted its “global commitment to source chickens raised with improved welfare outcomes," but fast growth continues to cripple birds in the fast-food titan's supply chain.

Millions of American consumers are flocking away from this cruelty--and toward kinder plant-based protein, and chains like White Castle are serving this growing market with plant-based patties.

In Finland and Sweden, McDonald's now offers a "McVegan burger," after a hugely successful test period. Tell McD's you want a vegan burger in the US, too!
JessicaMcDonald's has touted its “global commitment to source chickens raised with improved welfare outcomes," but fast growth continues to cripple birds in the supply chain.

Millions of American consumers are flocking away from this cruelty--and toward kinder plant-based protein, and chains like White Castle are serving this growing market with plant-based patties.

In Finland and Sweden, the "McVegan burger" has been a major success. We want and deserve this humane and healthy option in the United States.
Terry FriedmanMcDonald's has touted its “global commitment to source chickens raised with improved welfare outcomes," but fast growth continues to cripple birds in your supply chain.

Please join your competitors and add vegan options to your menu.

Thank you.
ClaudiaMcDonalds if you must serve chicken or any meat please use the most humane practices possible. It is bad enough that countless animals must die for your profit but at the very least let them have a decent life before they die. I have 5 children who will not eat in any of your restaurants until you change your practices. And I will be spreading this message to everyone I know. Act now to end cruelty!
LilyMcDonalds is cruel and I will never buy from their products.
EdwardMcDonald's is increasingly falling behind the sentiments and purchasing habits of Americans, especially millennials, as it continues to cater to the unenlightened values and tastes of an older generation that is rapidly dying off because of its poor dietary and health choices. I call on McDonald's to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu.
LindaMcDonald's it is high time you faced the music to see just how many vegetarians and vegans there are in every country of the world now, and they are increasing every year. To win over this growing population I would think that you would certainly want to start offering non-cruelty items at your stores.
Redesign with the times!! This is no longer the meat eating 1950's!!! (Thank God)
ValerleMcDonald's it's time to go with tide of people who are looking for humane food. Please stop using eggs from factory farms and give us a VEGAN BURGER.
Thank you.
MaddoxMcDonald's needs to get with the times that are changing and update their menu to satisfy people who do not want cruelty to be a part of their diet. For years, McDonald's has made a continuous profit off of the misery of animals to feed the masses that are obsessed with animal consumption. Make the change and go with animal free food. McDonald's profits off of animal misery, but they have the opportunity to finally serve the public with dignity and respect!
CorinneMcDonald's needs to listen to their customers It's not enough to refuse rain forest beef
BrianMcDonald's please implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions--and to add a vegan burger to its menu!

Thank you,
Brian Bradley
Kermit R. DavisMcDonald's should do much, much better in using humane supply chains. Consumers are becoming more and more knowledgeable about the sources of their food and the unacceptable treatment of farm animals. This is a trend that will continue to grow. I'm a vegetarian, so I do not eat at McDonald's or any other fast food place, for that matter. A plant based diet is the preferred diet of the medical community and it is the only sustainable diet moving forward. I love my vegetable-based diet. I get ample protein and my food is delicious. Being a vegetarian or vegan has never been easier.
Dana CraigMcDonald's should move forward towards a more humane plant based model. Thank you.
lynnMcDonald's this is blatant and massive cruelty! I will not support you in any way!
GEORGINAMcDonald's you alone, as the industry titan, have the power of making sweeping changes. Use this power for good, please, and not to make more profit off the backs of innocent, severely abused, and defenseless animals.
MeganMcDonald's,
I urge you to implement a basic welfare policy for chickens and other animals that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.
Sincerely,
Megan McLean
BobbyMcDonald's, do the right thing. We are watching!
StephenMcDonald's, it is your responsibility to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions for animals. In reality you should implement an industry leading policy that acts in the best interests of animals. Moreover, you should add a vegan burger and other vegan selections to your menu. It's simply not cool to be cruel!
SteveMcDonalds, please implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding and horrific living conditions... and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu!
JillMcDonalds, the least you can do is to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions of chickens–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.
DavidMcDonald's, the smart business move is to start carrying vegan burgers before Burger King does. Whoever does it first gets my business for the rest of my life.
TerriMcDonald's, we as people who care about the welfare of chickens will not tolerate the cruelty you serve to your chickens, I will no longer be a customer of yours and will be spreading the word to others about the cruelty you inflict on the chickens and this means you will be losing even more business.
DeborahMcDonald's, you can afford to do better. Please demand only the highest standards from your corpse-suppliers, and please offer more vegan choices for those of us who don't like to participate in cruelty.

Thank you.
ChrisMcDonald's, you should take the lead on this cause
pamMcDonald's,
I'm not lovin it!
I am writing to you to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions and become a true leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.

Thank you for listening,
Pam Ward
MICHELLEMcDonald's...it's time to do better!
RuthMcDonald's: There is a whole market you are missing - vegetarians like myself who find the cruelty in the food chain unacceptable. How about some soy-based burgers for us? And if you do offer chicken products, please require your suppliers to give the chickens decent living conditions before they become food.
AngelaMcDonald's: Who specifically (name) stands in the way of change and thereby promotes suffering, in this instance?

Please reconsider .
michaelMcDonalds:

Unless you make a genuine commitment to the common decency of animal welfare your stockholders are herein put on notice. There are MORE human beings in America that are concerned with this issue than the number of hamburgers you boast to sell!

It will certainly be the beginning of the end. This is NOT asking for much, simply do the "right" thing. It will be better for all involved, not only the animals, but also your customers, stockholders and more importantly the conscience of America. And, in addition, you can be absolutely certain you will have the support you need, however how long it takes to transition, from your customers and non customers alike. Thank you

MT
TerryMcDonald's:

You can count on me NEVER coming to your restaurant until you implement more humane standards for all animals and offer truly healthy plant based food choices.

My many eat-out dollars go to great restaurants offering humane food/plant based food.
KMcDonalds:
I stopped eating at any McDonald's places long ago, because I have seen the horrendous conditions chickens have to suffer. "Cruelty Free" is the future of restaurants, and you can't even see it. Just from the marketing standpoint, you are being stubbornly behind the times, and will become obsolete unless you embrace, and advertise, your new stance on cruelty.
SusanMcVegan on all menus!!!!
lUCINDAmCvEGAN OR NADA FROM MCD
HeatherMore and more consumers move from unethical, cruelty sourced and drug laden meats towards healthier foods and proteins. Vegan options are increasingly popular. Your association with animal cruelty is frankly shameful and distasteful.
Jeri ThurberMore and more people are becoming aware of the cruelty involved in the food industry and moving to support companies that stop their cruel promises. McDonald's needs to do the right thing.
HannahMore and more people are going for plant protein instead. You will get more business if follow the trend as well.
KevinMore vegan choices, as a company you do try- but not enough. Check out the unbelievable cruelty at your factories. No animal wants to die, show compassion and kindness .
JanMost consumers, when they learn about the cruelty imposed on farmed animals will switch to a less cruel and more compassionate alternative. McDonald's has many competitors in the fast food business. Many of your customers will switch to your competitors who implement basic welfare policies. I will not buy McDonald's products until you implement some sort of welfare policy to minimize suffering.
BrianMost important, please implement a basic welfare policy for animals that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions.

After the most important issue of the needless suffering of innocent animals, please add a plant-based burger to your menu.

Thank you for your consideration of these requests.
DeborahNO COMMENT
LureeNo excuse for cruelty!
LizNo more animal cruelty.
MarinaNo more cruelty !!!
JessicaNo more cruelty!
SandraNorthwood
AmandaOffer cruelty free alternatives
NassaraOffering plant-based options and cruelty free products is not only the moral thing to do, it is also economically sensible (and we know that is the only thing most companies are interested in). So why not do it?
NicholasOnly source from cage free animals and a healthy diet without additives.
BruceOptions for non-cruelty produced products are really what a lot of people, including me are looking for.
Dave and RitaOur family boycotts McDonalds due to the company's support of horrific cruelty to chickens. The rapid growth, extreme crowing and inhumane living conditions of these animals is barbaric and brutal!

We are urging you to offer a vegan burger at all your restaurants soon! Once we know of your contempt of cruelty, we will likely be customers but not until then!

Thank you for your consideration!
JessPassing info about your neglect of animal welfare along to people I know that go to your chain.
DaylePeople are waking up to the fact of how cruel meat is. The least you could do is provide human living conditions to those poor chickens. I won't be back for even a french fry or cup of coffee until McDonalds changes its ways. Same with all the other fast food places that sell misery.

At first it was a little hard to change, all I had to do was remind myself of what was going on. I frequent no establishments that do not have a policy of better conditions for animals. That is the first step: better conditions. Next step: Plant based.
FernandoPeople of MacDonalds:

Please implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions in your supply chain and become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.
EllenPeople want change and compassion.
ColleenPeople want plantbased options and want to stop torturing chickens
JennaPlant based products are the future. Be bold McDonalds.
CandicePlant based protein is becoming more and more popular and people have had enough of the animal cruelty.
judyplant protein in any way would be amazing. Bring back a veggie burger fixed the same way as your hamburger!
ValeriePLEASE !!!!!! Make immediate changes to your animal welfare policy..you have the power to influence other companies/people for more stringent policies...this is 2018 for goodness sake..SPEAK UP for animals!!!!!!!!!!!
AlPlease act to incorporate animal welfare principles in all menu items.
CarlPlease add a healthy vegan burger to your menu as many of your competitors have done so the rapidly expanding plant-based community will have reason and motivation to frequent your establishments.
CarlPlease add a healthy vegan burger to your menu as many of your competitors have done so the rapidly expanding plant-based community will have reason and motivation to frequent your establishments.
charayPlease add a plant based burger to your menu. After hearing about the horrible crowding and suffering the chickens you use has totally stopped me buying your chicken menu items. Please show compassion, be a leader. if you are going to use chicken please please only use chicken that is certified humane and please add a plant based burger to you menu. show the world you care about animals, please
LindaPlease add a plant based burger to your menu. I don't eat the blood, flesh, and guts of animals, which is really what you're eating with a regular burger--yuk--so I would appreciate the option of a healthy and delicious plant based burger. Many are scrumptious these days. Hope you'll give them a try with all the fixings! Be a leader and do what you can against animal cruelty. Stand for something GREAT. Thank you.
HannahPlease add a vegan burger to the menu! We animal lovers are hungry for it! Also, please stop the horrid, cruel process of getting chicken meat. There are more humane ways of doing it. Thank you for your time.
KelliPlease add a vegan burger to your menu so those of us who care about the treatment of animals can eat at your restaurants. Also, please remove the meat flavoring in your french fries. I can't even go by your restaurants and get a greasy fry fix.
GailPlease add a vegan burger to your menu.
PatPlease add a vegan burger to your menu. Additionally, please source your chicken from ethical providers that address the horrific rapid growth of chickens and the crowded conditions they are often stuck in. This is not humane! Even though these animals are being raised for food does not mean they should be treated badly! If they give their lives for us they should be treated with the utmost respect and compassion!
SusanPlease add a vegan burger, but make sure it is a healthy option!
ChristinePlease add a vegan hamburger to your menu. More and more people are opting out of meat due to the cruelty involved in the raising and killing of animals for food.
StephaniePlease add a veggie burger to your menu!
Stop being so cruel to chickens!!
LauraPlease add a veggie burger!
E. MPlease add plant based options to your menu. When will you stop supporting animal cruelty?!
joyce gilmorePlease add vegan burgers to your menus. More and more people are eating plant based foods and are concerned about massive cruelty to animals.
EvanPlease add vegan options to all McDonald’s restaurants world wide. Be a part of progressive change.
PaulPlease add vegan options to your menu. I would like to return to McDonald's after 24 years.
LIZPlease add vegan options.
SelenaPlease add vegan or at least vegetarian options. My family & I have been getting veggie burgers every Friday at other places & at burger king every other Friday. But McDonald's would be more convient for us. I have a big Puerto Rican family & although most of them are meat eaters they like to follow my lead somewhat & be healthy. They actually like the veggie burgers & tend to buy those more often for health reasons especially with the diabetes in the family. You'd get a lot of customers thru our family & friends. Keep up with the times please & add vegan options so every one can be included.
Carlos RamirezPlease adopt a humane way of treating your chickens and all animals. 'I SEE HUMANS BUT I DON'T SEE HUMANITY."
SheilaPLease be a leader and stop this horrific cruelty. Please start introducing vegan options,, how about a vegan burger? More and more people are starting to eat only plant based foods. People everywhere are learning the truth of the horrors we inflict on animals, in this case, poor innocent sensitive chickens, People are shunning meat and dairy . Join the movement to a plant based diet! It's a very big world wide movement!
JeannePlease be a leader in compassion and basic decency. All animals must be treated humanely. Whether you like it or not the world is going vegan for all the right reasons. There are so many delicious meat substitutes McDonald's should be offering. You are missing out on a huge market of hungry vegans.
SandraPlease be compassionate.
sharonplease be HUMANE!!
arlinePlease be kind to animals
AndrewPlease be kind to animals!
JoycePlease become a leader in fast food by adding a plant-based burger to your menu--there are so many tasty ones out there and I bet you can develop a special one of your own--a real signature one that people would really enjoy!
JessicaPlease bring vegan options to McDonald’s.
RoseannPlease catch up to reality! American consumers are eating more plant-based foods than ever and would welcome 100% vegan items on your menu.

For the items that are animal-based, please enact animal welfare policies like other fast food manufacturers. Animals are crowded together in filthy living conditions and forced to grow too large too quickly, leading to crippling ailments.
MelindaPlease change for the welfare of animals as well as the good of the people and the planet. If that isnt enough then consider the fact that Vegans are on the rise and there is a large market you are losing money in. If you made more cruelty free offerings people would purchase. Krogers, walmart, Burger King, Dominos, Mug Shots, Subway and tons of others are now expanding their Vegan options and McDonalds should too. Please do it for humanity. You can lead the way.
JeannePlease change your purchasing habits. If you do not you are only exacerbating the horrible treatment perpetrated on these defenseless animals. This isn't something you must do, you choose to stay with this plan of doing business and if you continue to do so, you will start losing business.

I will no longer stop by McDonalds for a quick meal or even a cup of your really good coffee until these practices cease. Thank you.
MistyPlease consider having plant based food
KimPlease consider non meat options- I haven’t eaten animals for almost 7 years and never will again
JadePlease do better in your efforts of compassion towards chickens! Offer plant protein options if you'd like my business!!
LizaPlease do launch a veggie burger in the US - so many consumers would enjoy the option for a meat-free meal at McDonald’s. Thank you!
NoelPlease do something 🙏🏻💔💔😢😢😢😢
Beverly SchmitzPlease do the humane thing and let these chickens roam free so they are having to sit or lay in their own feces. Stop breeding them to grow so large they fall over and can't get back up! Who wants to eat a chicken that's been laying in it's own waste. The overcrowding is unthinkable for these animals.
RobinPlease do the moral thing and stop this.
KathleenPlease do the right & humane thing!
ElysePlease do the right thing and commit to the same animal welfare policy as your competitors!
TeresaPlease do the right thing and improve the welfare of these poor animals. It is the least you could do.

RichardPlease enact a animal welfare committee at McDonalds.
EliPlease enact and implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.

Thank you!
JohnPlease end animal suffering associated with your products.
mauricePlease end the cruel treatment of chickens in your supply chain.
KennedyPlease end the unnecessary suffering of animals!
JanPlease first of all, offer a vegan burger!

Also, please address the suffering of the animals that you kill for food. Stop severe crowding in facilities and extreme growth breeding, all of which cause extreme suffering for the animals.

Finally, these animals suffer greatly in the slaughter process. Another form of killing must be used, such as the "gas" form, with gas and oxygen deprivation, after the animals are unconscious.

Thank you for your attention to this very important ongoing concern.

Jan Davenport
Concord, Ohio
WilliamPlease follow through on your pledge and do what your competitors are already doing: Institute basic changes from your chicken suppliers – changes that would reduce the severe crowding on factory farms and the crippling effects of rapid growth. Stop perpetuating cruelty.

Thank you.
MelissaPlease get a veggie burger for the menu.
SummerPlease give the chickens a better life. They don't deserve to be treated so badly alive and then murdered. Please give them a better life. Thank you.
amberPlease have a vegan option, please. Animals do not need to suffer.

I am vegetarian and not a customer of your food
Diane PeasePLEASE HAVE COMPASSION! THERE IS NO NEED FOR THIS HORRIBLE CRUELTY!
maryPlease have some compassion for our fellow living beings and stop the cruelty. Plant based food are the way to go.

Steve Tardif
SPlease implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme overcrowding, and horrific living conditions birds and animals are enduring because of your quick demand for flesh. As consumers are becoming more ethical with their food and moving away from fast food and an animal-based diet in favor of a plant-based diet, you are going to see a decrease in demand for the unethical food being served in your restaurant You can either be part of the problem or part of the solution. The choice is yours!
LaraPlease implement a rigorous animal welfare policy for the animals served for food in your restaurant that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions.

Additionally, I urge you to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your American menu! It will be a success!!

Lara Cemo
DanikaPlease implement a welfare policy that addresses animals' living conditions in a meaningful and significant way. I would also love to see a vegan burger at all McDonald's like many fast food chains already offer.
WhitneyPlease implement a welfare policy that addresses rapid, painful growth, extreme crowding and horrific living conditions. And please lead the fast food world by adding a plant based burger to your menu.
LaceyPlease implement an animal welfare policy immediately. Animals should not be subjected to inhumane living conditions including intense confinement, overcrowding, and painful rapid growth.
JodiPlease implement an animal welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding and horrific living conditions from your suppliers. Consumers want ethically raised meat - and a growing number of consumers are looking for meat alternatives at fast food establishments. Please step up and keep up with the times.
MoiraPlease implement an animal welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions in your supply chain. Americans care about animal cruelty.
RuheePLEASE implement an animal welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions. In addition, Finland and Sweden, McDonald's now offers a "McVegan burger," after a hugely successful test period. Please bring the McVegan burger to the U.S and U.K!!
John R BrewerPlease implement an animal welfare policy.
AnnePlease implement an animal welfare policy. Ensure that humane standards are met by your suppliers. Also, offer customers a plant based vegan burger.
DonettePlease implement basic animal welfare. Please bring out a vegan patty.
StaceyPlease implement basic welfare policies for these innocent animals as a good leader & add a plant based option for consumers
MaryPlease implement basic welfare policy’s and provide consumers a plant based burger.
MajaPlease implement stronger animal welfare requirements in your supply chain.
WhitneyPlease implement welfare policies that do not promote torture and pain. PLEASE!!!!!
ElenaPlease improve conditions for chickens and start offering a vegan sandwich at all of your restaurants!
SachaPlease include more plant-based items and a veggie burger like the Beyond Burger on your menu. As consumers, with so much awareness of the destructive and cruel practices of factory farming, we are looking to some of America's oldest and most beloved companies that provide us with food for our families to rise up and make big changes that will benefit us, the animals and the planet. Winston Churchill said "a nation without a conscious is a nation without a soul." Let us lead the way!
LouisePlease include more Vegán options on your menu.
CraigPlease incorporate a veggie burger into your North American menus please.
LesleePlease institute a humane basic welfare policy for chickens!
MichellePlease institute basic animal welfare practices into your food suppliers
Mary AnnPlease join your competitors in acknowledging and addressing animal welfare as your responsibility. Increased public awareness of the horrible conditions in which animals are raised for food is having an effect on our choices for suppliers of that food. If a company like McDonald's is lagging behind its competitors in ensuring humane conditions for chickens, pigs, and cattle that are raised for food, we will go to Burger King or Wendy's instead. Also, for those who choose to avoid animal sources of food altogether, please offer a vegan burger. I and my husband tried one at home recently and enjoyed it as much as a beef burger. You could be serving a growing segment of the fast food market by offering vegan food.
RobinPlease keep up with the ages and end animal cruelty.
SuePlease keep your commitment to improved animal welfare. Implement a welfare policy that addresses the massive sources of suffering for your chickens - painful rapid growth, extreme over crowding, and horrific living conditions. And please bring a vegan burger to the US, it's time.
JamesPlease limit cruelty. Give vegan options.
DavePlease look to alternatives at least for meat, and source eggs from other locations.
PaulettePlease make animal welfare a priority: end the painful rapid growth and consequent crippling of chickens, extreme and unnatural crowding, and lack of access to the outdoors and to sunshine. More and more people are unwilling to participate in cruelty to other living beings with their own right to live natural and peaceful lives. You have a major role to play and along with the above considerations would do a great service by offering a vegan burger on your menu.
KimPlease make plant-based items for non-animal eaters.
MarshaPlease make the compassionate choice to stop supporting cruelty towards chickens in your supply chain. Adopt a meaningful welfare policy for chickens, as so many of your competitors have done, and put an end to this abuse!
BrandonPlease make your chicken with plant-based protein, not from chickens cruelly raised on factory farms.
LauriePLEASE McDonald's, it's NOW time for new direction where CRUELTY IS OUT and a new awareness prevails. Vegan burgers are a win for today's market of enlightened consumers. I am so looking forward to your joining the force of including them (& Sweden & Finland have) in your menu's, as well as other vegan options. I WILL BUY if you do, as well as So Many others!!! We will NOT purchase food that has Suffering and Cruelty attached to it any longer. Factory Farms need to become a thing of the past. PLEASE make this FANTASTIC CHANGE & see all the POSITIVE that will happen!!!!
MCUH APPRECIATION & Most Warmly & Sincerely Yours, Mrs. Laurie Hein consumer.
JoannePlease McDonald's, make humane progress great again! Reduce the suffering. Offer plant protein menu items!!!
NinaPlease McDonald's, stop this sickening practice of painful rapid growth, extreme crowding and just overall horrific living conditions for those poor animals and become a true leader of the industry by adding more plantbased burgers and other meal items on your menu!!
SherriePlease offer a cruelty free plant based menu in the US!
JenniferPlease offer more plant based options.
KarenPlease offer vegan alternatives that are healthy and cruelty free.
JillPlease offer vegan alternatives to one day be able to stop being one of the biggest cruelest animal killers and human health killers on the planet. Please stop selling your customers tortured animals.
KathyPlease offer vegan burgers in the USA. I would definitely frequent McD's if you offered it.
Thanks.
KATHYPlease offer vegan burgers! They are healthier less destructive to the environment and cruelty free
Natalieplease offer vegan choices
ChristinePlease offer vegan options- chickens, cattle, and hogs suffer terribly in factory farms- from the moment of their birth, through debeaking, dehorning, and tail docking (without any painkillers), to long truck rides with no food or water, to the final terrifying hours crammed into the slaughterhouse, where they will be stunned unconscious, have their throats slit, and hopefully be dead before they are skinned and eviscerated.
DianePlease offer vegan options. Thank you!
ColleenPlease offer vegetarian burgers please!
ChristinaPlease offer veggie burgers at ALL MCDonalds
MeritxellPlease provide alternatives to meat and dairy. The future is vegan get ahead of the other fast food chains.
DavidPlease Quit the Suffering
CHRISTINEPlease require your chicken suppliers to make meaning welfare changes - or change suppliers. Many of your competitors have already done so and you are lagging behind. Even better, you could also add some vegan options to your menu, including a vegan burger.
SarahPlease respond to your consumer's request for animal welfare and make and sell a good vegan burger.

PatriciaPlease save the lives of these helpless Chickens.
JeriPlease seriously consider a plant-based (vegan) option on your menu. Something besides just salad. More and more people are going vegan so I hope you will provide that option. A very good item is the Impossible Burger. Thank you.
karenPlease show compassion and not only take steps to improve your animal welfare but also add more plant-based proteins to your menu. If you care about your bottom line, you'll know that animal agriculture is unsustainable long term and more consumers are looking for plant-based foods. Be a leader in this movement and act now!
BarbaraPlease show compassion for animals.
DeannaPlease start making vegan friendly options available. There is no reason that fries should not be vegetarian friendly, and there are great vegan burger and "chick'n" options available.
AndreaPlease step up and do the right thing. Consumers do care how their food is sourced and we will let our wallets do the talking!
LindaPlease stop buying chickens from cruel, overcrowded factory farms and seek out suppliers that support a more humane model. Also, I'd love to be offered a vegan burger in your Cincinnati restaurants. Thank you
TinaPlease stop exploiting, torturing and murdering sentient beings just to make a profit.
VictoriaPlease stop harming and exploiting chickens and other animals. They have the right to live freely according to their own nature and we do not have the right to kill or torture them. We can and need to take responsibility for our eating without harming other animal species, that is, by making and choosing vegan foods. That is healthy and cruelty-free eating.
kathleen johnsonPlease stop hurting animals. I will boycott McDonalds until you change the way you treat animals!! Also please start selling plant based sandwichs...
TeresaPlease stop sourcing your meat and animal products from factory farms and places where animals suffer greatly during their short lives before they are slaughtered.

Also, please introduce vegan and vegetarian friendly items to your menu. I would eat at McDonalds if those types of items were available.

Thank you,

Teresa Sem

Ellen-CathrynPlease stop using Chickens!
CarinPlease stop!
NancyPlease switch to plant based alternatives.
SandraPlease switch your priorities to promote plant protein. We all have to switch to reduce methane emissions sooner or later. We have two years left to avert severe climate changes that will make the planet uninhabitable. It's simply not sustainable to eat any kind of meat, and there is ample science to show it's heart healthy and reverses diabetes type II. If I can be of help for educational purposes or peer-reviewed science citations, please let me know. Thank you.
LauraPlease take meaningful steps to stop this suffering!
ValeriePlease tell your supplier that you won't buy chickens who have been raised in crowded inhumane conditions and raised to grow to full adult size in 6 1/2 weeks. And please offer a vegan burger on your menu. That's why I eat at Taco Bell and not McDonalds - because I can eat vegan at Taco Bell but not at McDonalds. Thanks
VictoriaPlease think about bringing kindness into your menu....There are new plant based meats such as Beyond Meat Burgers that are far superior to meat...Using plant based meats is not only healthier..it is without cruelty...it does not have the over head that raising cattle and keeping them fed and watered on a minute by minute basis that occurs with cows...there is not enough land..there is not enough water...keeping cows for consumption is not sustainable..it is cruel...and the world is ready for change...it is a new world..the world wants cruelty free products that do not hurt the earth...that do not hurt the oceans...do not hurt animals..and that do not hurt people...

There is Just Clean Meat that will be coming to market somewhere around 2018 of this year. Your company may want to look into it. It is meat made out of the cells of real animals. It is cruelty free..it does not have the overhead that raising cattle and housing has...it is far more profitable for your company and plant based and Just clean meats are something you can be proud of..it is something that does not have to be covered in shame like the Big Ag Industry..

Look It Up!!! Just Clean Meats..It is a new World..A Kinder World.. It Does No Harm To Any living Being or The Planet
ErinPlease think of the circumstances of the animals’ lives before buying animal product food items.

kasunSimply, you know what to do 😏
AnneSo disturbed & disgusted by the inhumane way the chickens in your supply chain are treated. You’re losing customers who care about the way animals are treated before becoming someone’s meal. Many other companies who support humane treatment will be my new choice.
AnnSo important to not abuse our animals, land, sea, air.
CarolineSo many people are choosing plant-based foods now, even just for some of their meals. It is less costly for you as an organization and better for the environment to have vegan options. It makes sense all around that you would offer vegan options. Please do so! Then you will have many new customers!
HeidiSome vegan and vegetarian choices would bring in more customers....

PatríciaTell McDonald’s: Consumers Are Flocking from Cruelty… and Toward Plant Protein!
BonnieThank you for your consideration.
DonnaThe best way to save them is not to eat them!
Barak StewartThe billions of animals suffering through your food system and killed every year are just as intelligent as the dogs and cats we love. These animals deserve better. You have the resources and ability to be a leader of animal welfare. Its time for McDonald's to act.
SeanThe care and support that goes into cruelty free business is always great publicity for a business and I strongly urge McDonalds to take this step!
GayThe cruelty to, and the inhumane treatment of living creatures needs to stop---NOW!! People do not Need to eat animals to live. Why not be a trendsetter and serve plant based foods? Now that would be newsworthy, positive publicity for McDonalds!!
ElettraThe DAY THEY DIE IS THE BEST DAY OF THEIR LIVES !!! Think about that! you heartless people!!!!
TheresaThe horrific conditions inflicted on chickens is sickening and cruel. The knowledge of chickens living without the space to even move and legs breaking under their own weight is now becoming known throughout the world. Chickens that are injured or sick are left to die slowly and painfully, often trampled by other chickens simply trying to survive in the cramped, tiny area provided. How can a company who prides itself on demonstrating kindness and compassion to families with the Ronald McDonald House be so blind to suffering? Animals feel pain, sadness, fear, and depression; how can you turn your back on those who are so defenseless and depend on you to treat them with decency? Has money become the only thing that matters while hundreds of thousands of chickens live in pain, fear, and filth? Have you truly lost your soul? Please implement policies that reflect your true commitment to eliminating the cruel world of factory farming and returning to animals living as they were born to live.
KathilynThe horrific conditions that you allow your chickens to llive in for future McDonald's to sell are absolutely disgusting and deplorable!! NO MORE McDonald's for my family and I until you implement a welfare policy to end the massive crowding and painful rapid growth. Also, please add plant based food options on your menu!!!j You will serve MANY more people if you comply. NO MORE McDonald's until you do!!
ShaynaThe massive suffering doesn't fly with consumers! McDonald's you need to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to its menu.
JessicaThe massive suffering of chickens won’t fly with consumers!
GaryThe McDonald's Corporation has such power to bring true change to the food industry. McDonald's can change how chickens, hogs, and cattle are raised and also bring a greater choice of plant-based protein menu options so fewer animals are raised as food commodities. Please show the world that McDonald's does care and is a true leader in these changing times.
JohnThe Movie Documentary "The Game Changers" proven HOW HARMFUL animal protein is! Even ROMAN GLADIATORS weren't meat eaters!

McDonald's best aspect is the many locations....where you can use the restrooms for free.

So MANY other Fast Food places serving chicken have made this change!!
KathieThe only way McDonald's will attract people to check out the veg burger and get more customers is to be compassionate in all ways they can
DeaThe public has no choice but to learn how animals who survive the harsh conditions of farms are rewarded with the horror of slaughter. They have no choice because we will not stop telling them. McDonald's has no choice but to stop torturing animals as fewer people are willing to be complicit in animals abuse by buying non vegan food.
JillThe time has come! Vegan is the future..lets face it! What you are making your money on is not only horrifically cruel to all sentient beings but you are one of the main causes of heart attacks, cancer and diabetes, medical facts now back this up! Please at least start by offering a vegan burger, not a veggie burger containing dairy and eggs, but pure vegan.. I would also like to request an area on the grill specifically set aside to cook these burgers so they don't become contaminated with flesh. Thank you for your consideration. Vegans are here and we are multiplying and NOT going away.
Lynette RidderThe way farm animals are treated sickens me and is the reason I stopped eating meat years ago. That's also why I stopped going to fast food places such as McDonalds. These days consumers are more aware of animal suffering. I urge you to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, horrific living conditions, and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu. Thank you!
AndreaThe world is changing people do not think it is acceptable to abuse animals and many more people than in the past need plant based options.
KatieThere are "vegan" burgers that surpass any meat burger in both taste and nutrition. They are better for the environment, and they don't involve animal cruelty and abuse. Make the change, McDonald's--we know you can!
sandyThere are other means to produce chickens without the horrendous cruelty of cages, growth hormones and cruel slaughter. Also consider veggie products as an alternative.
micheleTHERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON ANY ANIMAL LIKE CHICKENS NEED TO BE SLAUGHTERED FOR FOOD.
PetraThere is no excuse for animal cruelty. Vegan options makes sense ethically and business wise.
MICHELLEThere is no reason to eat animal products in 2018
GEROLYNNThere needs to be more Vegetarian options as the number of people who have this diet. Cruelty I WILL NOT SUPPORT !!!!!!
ShawnceyThere should be a variety of vegan alternatives available.
SusanThere should be plenty of support for a McVegan burger. Let's have one. Animals deserve a break today and every day.
MonikaThey are God's (!) Creatures (!), and we shall not kill and hurt, but show compassion and care.

mariotime for a great vegie burger !!
Audriana OceanTime for McDonald's to evolve & implement a basic welfare policy.
GeorgeTime to do the proper thing, please .
GeralynTimes are changing and the market should recognize consumer demands. Please implement animal welfare protocols. More and more people are aware of and strongly disagree with the horrible conditions in "factory farming".
Please make improvements in the conditions of chickens raised for slaughter.

Please also consider adding plant based alternatives that are just as delicious!

Thank you
PranavTimes are changing. McDonald's needs to create an animal welfare policy for the chickens as well as other animals it uses for food. In addition, McDonald's needs to add vegan options for its menus. As more and more consumers turn towards plant-based foods, McDonald's menu should reflect that.
ChrisTo McDonalds,
Please join Finland and Sweden in serving customers the much desired McVegan Burger!!! The success there can easily be replicated in the U.S. Times have changed and consumers have wised up to the devestating effects of cholesterol, trans fat, animal fat and the carcinogens found in meat. The plant based market has exploded in the last couple of years and will certainly disrupt companies that have yet to jump on the band wagon. The new generation is intelligent and educated, they are aware of the devestating effects the meat and dairy industry plays on the environment and global warming, this generation demands healthy, clean plant based products that do not contribute to animal cruelty, suffering and death. Look at the success of Veggie Grill or By Chloe, they have a strong and steady following throughout the U.S., every year they consistently open new restaurants with tremendous success and make plant based eaters very happy! It’s time for McDonalds to let go of the notion that you can only be profitable from the exploitation and consumption of animals. It is no longer true. Please give the world the McVegan Burger and drop animal products from your menu! Thank you. Chris
MarceTruly sickening...I am ashamed of man.

BeverlyWant vegetarian option on the menu - how about a good vegan burger?
ChrisWe are asking you to implement a basic animal welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding and horrific living conditions of all animals in your supply chain and become a true food leader by a plant-based burger and other plant-based meal options to your menu.
LynneWe are begging you to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.
AleksWe can do better by life--it's time!
patWE NEED PLANT BASED PROTEINS FROM YOU!!!!
RuthWe share this planet. It is not ours for the taking. As one of the most intelligent life forms, we have as duty to take care of other species.I am not against eating meat or poultry per se. What I am against is eating flesh form creatures which have endured an inhumane existence.
You are affluent enough to breed chickens which have had a decent life.
Please do something to improve your practices.
AshleyWe want a delicious vegan patty burger. It’s time
KennyWe will no longer buy at McDonald's if this does not stop immediately.
NikiWe would go to McDonalds if they offered vegan options
JanWe’ll skip eating at McDonald’s until a cruel free source for chicken is used.
robertWhat a shame this is even an issue. No creature deserves pain and torture for any reason!!!!!
RedElisaWhat you are doing to God's living, breathing creatures is horribly cruel and inhumane. You don't need to do this.

Besides a vegan option, respect God's gifts and treat the chickens with love and compassion!
pWhere did I get the idea two or so decades ago that McDonald's subscribed to humane treatment of the animals it makes its money from (they get paid not one cent, but instead suffer a life of abuse)?

No more breakfast sandwiches for me, chicken sandwiches, or chicken nuggets. In fact, no more McDonald's until I know that the animals are treated humanely. Gross growth is not humane for animal OR mankind.

In the past few decades, girls' breasts have been growing very large at a younger age than before. And I have wondered about the implications of that on breast cancer. I will be looking for studies on that.

A wholesome. humane McDonald's...would be nice.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Patricia Perron
GeoWhere's your vegan burger.
PhilipWhite Castle, TGI Fridays, BurgerFi, and Tropical Smoothie are already catering to the massive, growing market of compassionate eaters by offering vegan burgers and sandwiches.
This massive suffering won’t fly with consumers! Please implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.

Thank you.

TeresaWhy are you delaying the implementation of a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions of farm animals? Cruelty to live, sentient beings is not an acceptable policy - EVER!
tinaWill never go to McDonald's...and will also encourage friends, family, and the children at the school that I work at to boycott Mc Donalds too.
Lou-EllenYes, the American way...have choices...for vegetarians also even if part time. Good for animal life and environment.
CherylYou are not making me McHappy McDonalds. Your business was designed to target children and you succeeded. That is still true today.

How do you think children would react if they knew their precious McNuggets were the result of unimaginable cruelty to chickens?

Until you are able and/or willing to end your participation in animal cruelty, I will continue tospread the word about your promotion od unsoeakable cruelty to animals.
Marilyn EvensonYou can help stop animal suffering by offering vegan choices & only buying animal products fro humane suppliers.
SteveYou can live without killings animals.
MichelleYou can salvage some much needed good will by helping these chickens avoid torture.
MarkusYou do not have to sacrifice life for taste!
JamieYou have the power to save farm animals. Do the right thing.
AlexandruYou have to implement a basic welfare policy that addresses painful rapid growth, extreme crowding, and horrific living conditions–and to become a true food leader by adding a plant-based burger to your menu.
LaurieYou kill SO many animals. Please offer some healthy plant-based options.
TammeraYou need to consider the tastes of those against the awful meat industry and offer another choice. You won’t be sorry.
ArchnaYou need to offer a vegan burger!!
GenevieveYou want to do better McDonalds? Try some humanity
JudeYou will be glad you switched to vegan meat---you can do it gradually. It will bring back customers you have lost.
Carolineyou would increase your sales and your public image if you were to take the simple step of obtaining cruelty free animal products
KatieYou've already shown kindness and improvement by implementing cage free eggs and the McVegan in some countries. Other restaurants know that veganism is the future. Please consider adding vegan options to your menu.
