I’m writing to urge you to prosecute Ali Meat International for violations of Florida’s Humane Slaughter Act. Video evidence of a public event at this Orlando facility shows untrained customers, including a child, were allowed to perform slaughter, resulting in prolonged, documented animal suffering, including one cow who was heard in distress for three minutes after their throat was cut.
I understand your office has confirmed an “active and ongoing criminal investigation” into Ali Meat International. However, the facility is still open. Florida law exists to prevent this kind of cruelty, and I expect your office to enforce it. An open file is not enough. Please move this investigation forward to prosecution and hold Ali Meat International accountable.
