This past weekend, Compassion Over Killing proudly participated in the 2nd annual iV Vegan Conference, a student activism and academic conference for students at Ivy League schools. Check out the photos below!
With about 150 attendees, the iV conference was a huge success. The event brought together student activists from each of the Ivy League schools to learn about all things vegan: animal protection, human nutrition, environmental issues related to factory farming, and activism. Cheryl Leahy, Compassion Over Killing’s very own General Counsel, gave a powerful presentation about how new restrictive Anti-Whistleblower laws could dramatically impact how we conduct undercover investigations.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’ve got some sweet news: Chloe Coscarelli, the first vegan winner of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and darling of The New York Times, has published a new cookbook. An all-dessert book.

Last month, we were excited to announce that vegan actors dominate the nominations for the prestigious 85th Academy Awards. And now we’ve got even more good news to share: it’s not just beautiful vegan people, such as actresses Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain, who will be celebrated that evening — vegan food is taking center stage at the annual post-Oscars Governor’s Ball!

Now in its fourth year, the much-anticipated DC Meat-Free Week is in full swing, from Feb. 4-11, 2013. Presented by the Kindness Collective Compassion Over Killing, and DC Vegan, this week-long celebration is a direct response to (and kicks off immediately after) the artery clogging Meat Week.
