Are you a passionate animal advocate looking to take your outreach to the next level?
We are currently looking for Animal Outlook Network regional reps to start new chapters around the U.S.
This exciting new role will involve organizing local events aimed at creating more vegans and animal advocates.
The role is voluntary and unpaid, with a minimum requirement of 2-4 hours per week (with more during busy periods). The role is remote and you will meet virtually with our Director of Outreach and Engagement once per month.
Animal Outlook is a national non-profit organization based in Washington DC. Animal Outlook’s groundbreaking work has been featured in high-profile media platforms across the U.S. including ABC News, CNN and The New York Times.
Animal Outlook’s mission is focused on: ‘Exposing truth. Inspiring change.’ It strategically challenges animal agribusiness through undercover investigations, legal advocacy, corporate and food system reform, and educating the public about the many harms of animal agriculture, empowering everyone to choose vegan.
The Animal Outlook Network empowers people to take critical action for animals by eating vegan and becoming an animal advocate. The Network is based on proven behavior change science for impactful and effective animal advocacy, and offers free, online training courses by signing up.
Specifications:
- Voluntary and unpaid position
- Must be based in the U.S. to apply
- Experienced in animal advocacy, and comfortable talking to members of the public about the issues with animal agriculture and empowering people to take action by eating vegan
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Comfortable multi-tasking
- Comfortable using initiative to set own schedule and grow the chapter
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute 3-5 local outreach events each year, distributing information, and collecting sign ups for the VegPledge and the Animal Outlook Network
- Plan and execute an event during Animal Outlook’s VegWeek which takes place every April
- Research opportunities for local events where this chapter can table, and organize tabling at these events
- Complete Animal Outlook’s animal advocacy training and ensure all chapter members complete it too
- Send regular communications to chapter members and keep informed on the latest developments with the chapter
- Complete a monthly report on chapter progress and share this with the Director of Outreach and Engagement
