In 2012, we shared the exciting news about Subway testing three vegan sandwiches in select DC-area locations. These hearty, protein-packed plant-based options received rave reviews from customers and media alike and were such a hit that stores ran out in a few short weeks. The test menu was deemed a huge success by the store managers who introduced these options, though Subway’s main office has been slow to respond to growing chorus of customers asking for vegan options.
Since the 2012 vegan test menu in DC, Subway has introduced falafel in dozens of locations, it added hummus in over 1,000 stores nationwide, and this past summer, the company started testing vegan options in several Los Angeles restaurants.
And now, for a limited time, Subway is re-introducing two hearty vegan sandwiches — the Malibu Garden and Sweet Riblet — to these select stores in and around the nation’s capital:
- 1129 18th St NW, Washington DC 20036
- 3720 Georgia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20010
- 3306 14th St. NW, Washington, DC 20010
- 1127 7th St. NW, Washington, DC 20001
- 555 13th St. NW, Washington, DC 20004
- 1666 K St., NW, Washington, DC 20006
- 320 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314
Stay tuned for more details and updates!
